What do you think about the 2003 Infiniti G35? I'm looking at buying the G35, and I wanted to know what everyone thought about the car. How reliable is it? What is the 0-60 time (i've heard everything from 5.5-6.1)? And, in general any comments on the car.

Robert E. Lee replied: "Reliable except for brake pads and rotors."

Howard Johnson replied: "Nice cars."

Rajiv G replied: "the g35 is a very reliable car. The VQ motors are one of the best motors ever made and their reliability is great. The 0-60 time is right around 5.5. Overall its a very fun car with a good amount of power and a nice luxury touch. The best bang for the buck in my opinion. Plus the car looks and sounds amazing :)"

xgeua22 replied: "Its an awesome car to own, I have one myself. Its been a very reliable car for me, its good on gas as long as you don't drive like a mad man most of your time. The 0-60 times are right, 5.5 for manual and 6.1 for automatic. My comment on the car is to buy some aftermarket rotors and brake pads and you won't have problems with its short life span as you do with OEM brakes."

Adrianek replied: "nice ride but the 2 door version only seats 4 people. retarded!!"

mustangkid replied: "These cars never break down there made in japan. Its also one of the most luxurious cars out there. The 2003 g35 sedan specs are- Acceleration (0-60 mph): 6.13 sec. Base Number of Cylinders: 6 Base Engine Size: 3.5 liters Base Engine Type: V6 Horsepower: 260 hp Max Horsepower: 6000 rpm Torque: 260 ft-lbs. Max Torque: 4800 rpm The 2003 coupe g35 specs are- Base Number of Cylinders: 6Base Engine Size: 3.5 liters Base Engine Type: V6 Horsepower: 280 hp Max Horsepower: 6000 rpm Torque: 270 ft-lbs. Which car would win in a race an automatic 2004 infiniti g35 or a manual 2007 Rx8? both stock. what would be their 0-60?

jimmy m replied: "g35 for sure. rx 8's are crappy rotary suprised the thing didnt blow yet."

redlightning44 replied: "Well the G35 goes from 0-60 in 5.7 seconds and the RX8 goes from 0-60 in about 6.5 seconds. But i think the RX8 would win becuz if u think about it using automatic can be a big disadvantage in a race. Not only that u have to explain whether it's 1/4 of a mile race or a circuit race etc."

leopaul_delr replied: "G35, I think. Just consider not the transmission and the horsepower. Just the top speed of this car."

Ford Cobra or Infiniti G35? I have a decision to make and I just wanted opinions of everyone on here.... 1999 Ford Mustang Cobra SVT (non supercharged) or 2004 Infiniti G35 Sports Coupe both have very similar gas mileage, both are almost even quarter mile and 0-60 times, pretty much everything is similar which is why I am asking. The Cobra is around 10,000 while the infiniti is around 20,000 insurance prices are very similar I also should probably add this is going to be my first manual transmission car, what would you say? opinions??????

Chikoo replied: "no question-- the Infiniti!! much better reliability, and it's 5 years newer than the Ford. i hope you already know how to drive a manual. if not, you should learn on a cheaper/less nice car before you thrash your new Infiniti's transmission. ;-)"

Moni K replied: "If they are that even in performance, I would take the Infiniti. It has much better refinement than the Ford. The interior is higher quality, Infinitis are much more reliable than Fords. Infiniti's manual gearbox feels better than the Ford's too."

roadster9879 replied: "Get the cobra ..... every body should have one just once in their life. And besides, the 10k you save will be needed for gas at the rate things are going. Also, Mustangs have more 3rd party support, therefore cheaper to get parts and upgrades for, etc. And, by the way, the mustang is a little over priced at 10k. If this car is Primo, extremely low milage, and pristine mint, its worth maybe about 7 or 8 k max. Now if it was a Saleen, Shelby, or one of the special editions, then it would be worth more. SVT means "Special Vehicle Team" and was a marketing Package from Ford Factory. There is some added value in resale, but not near as much as the others I mentioned. Best of luck on you purchase."

Alex replied: "cobra with a leftover 10k you can supercharge it to make it better than the infiniti, and still have money left over for fixing problems, or w/e"

M V replied: "With the extra 10000, customize the hell out of that cobra and use the rest for gas!"

Rank these in terms of 0-60 and 1/4Mile? All cars listed are stock.... 2004 Nissan Maxima SE 5speed automatic transmission 2001 Nissan Maxima GXE automatic transmission 2004 Acura RSX Type-S manual transmission 2008 Infiniti G37 automatic transmission 2009 Nissan Maxima SV CVT w/ paddle shifters 2008 Infiniti G35 Sedan automatic transmission

kcfreak3182 replied: "Dont waist your money build a muscle car on learn stuff from them cause all the upgrades for those cars are just bolt on learn something from an older car plus you can start out with a piece of shit and it can be worth a lot more than you put in them sometimes."

inkjax replied: "all except the rsx and maybe the infinty g37, these wll all do about the smae thing in the 0 to 60 mph range. 5.5 to 6.0 sec average . the 1/4 mile could differ as much as 1 second tops. the rsx will leave better but then the small motor has to work harder. the bigger infinty motors dont leave the line real well and the bigger engines will catch the smaller car at the "big end". mostly what you have here is drivers war. they are all about the same performance. give or take a second."

Which car is quicker 0-60? 1. 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix GXP ....they have a 5.3 liter v8 with 303hp or 2. 2004 Infiniti G35 coupe.....they have a 3.5 liter v6 with 280hp but at the rear wheels.. and overall what looks better to you?

Bobby replied: "I'm gonna go ahead and say the pontiac grand prix haha"

FleetTech replied: "By far the Pontiac is better looking !"

Raphaella K replied: "to answer your question, the Pontiac is faster 0-60 by a smidgen. really small amount of time. hardly a difference at all the 2004 Infiniti G35 coupe was a hair over six seconds... the 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix GXP was also around six seconds. i prefer the Pontiac, but price also has lots to do with which i would choose. the base value for the 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix GXP is $29,995, where as the Infiniti G35 coupe is starting from $29,250 to $32,450. The Pontiac is probably the one that i would choose. it has a top speed of 138, lame-o, but better than an old piece of junk."

Smile Alway's replied: "The Infinity is faster than the Pontiac. I'll leave you a comparison Grand Prix (GP) 0-60 is 6 seconds 1/4 of a mile is 14.3 sec and top speed (electronically controlled) is 138 G35 0-60 is 5.6 seconds 1/4 of a mile is 14.2 seconds and top speed (electronically controlled) is 155 The resale value of the infinity also holds up a little bit better than pontiac's but not by much. As far as which one looks nicer the GP looks a little nicer, but not that much nicer. Note: the information on the infinity is the G35 sports coupe which is the one I am asuming you are talking about. I give resale value type information because it helps determine which is a better buy in the long run."

I am looking to geta new car. looking at g35, 325i, and audi a4 hopefully 3.2 quatro s-line. well I am to be going to be getting a car this thursday hopefully and i have a few questions about what the users here have to say. so i am looking at 325i the infiniti g35 which i am torn about coupe or sedan b/c i saw the sedan had a better 0-60 (less wheel spin?) and audi a4 thinking 3.2 quattro but heard is is not as much fun b/c it does no have the same torque as the 2.0t. So I am kinda concered about german cars since i am 18 and if it brakes after the warranty is up it will not be good for me (looking to buy 2006) so i was wondering to they brake like alot or what? not sure what true cost of ownership of a bmw is after the 4 year coverage is up and i start doing all that shit myself. infiniti i am looking at as a nice japanese car that in theory should be easier to mantain and should have less problems. So this is where i stand as of now. used to be looking at rx8 but heard bad things about them and hard to aftermarket.

doug_hile replied: "Forget all that crap about thirdworld and foreign junk. Get yourself a good used Camaro, and learn to Rock n Roll. What is good for GM is good for America"

Solar replied: "wtf are you doing getting an expensive luxury car at 18? what, are momy and daddy buying you one? grow up"

p3200tmz replied: "They're all junk but the Infiniti is probably the lesser of the 3 evils! I agree with the first poster get yourself a nice Camaro or Mustang. They are more reliable than any of the ones your talking about and when it comes time for maintenance it will be cheaper, and your mechanic will like you better!"

RT replied: "to actually answer your question. the G35 would be your best bet as far as relieability goes, and there is lot of aftermarket support BUT if you were to get the german cars on your list under warranty, i would say go for it, since the cost to maintain german cars is a bit expensive if there isn't a warranty. If the case is that you are looking for a car for 4 years UNDER warranty i say I would go for either of the germans considering cost is not an issue, the quattro in the audi is amazingly safe BUT is not reliable at all, and i tell you that from experience, as far as the BMW goes, with a 325i its a great handling car, BUT its really small and again german cars are usually prone to electrical problems. All in all though, I feel that the g35 is your best bet, its got great power, handles well, and looks great, and is super reliable, and another good thing is infiniti/Nissan techs are usually not asses and are usually accomadating. And in response to those 2 guys praising american engineering, first of all he never asked about american cars, has asked about BMW, Infiniti and Audi specifically. As far as a used camaro goes, it sounds like this guy wants something reliable, and decently fuel friendly according to his list, not something that gets 10mpg, and is made from parts that will break, at least american parts will be cheap, last i remember the new 2010 camaro is built on a Vauxhall VX-R Frame (Austrailian) and as far as the for mustang goes, its probably the only sports car thats still built with a live rear axle. Having driven some great american sports cars (Corvette, Sky), I am not knocking american engineering, but lets be realistic guys, the last generation Camaro was discontinued because of poor sales, and was ugly as sin, and as much as i love the mustang, it handles like crap once it sees uneven/gravely roads."

I am buying a car, can't decide between two cars...help? I am 24, finished paying student loans, got a good secure job for over a year now, my birthday is coming up, time to finally reward myself...I never did get a graduation present.... Each car has it's pluses and minuses... BMW 330ci Positives - It's a BM, the ultimate driving machine, great handling, has usable backseat, good gas milage, has an actual usable trunk. Negatives - People think you're snobby when driving a BM, high ownership cost, not as powerful as the other car, not as fun as the other car. Infiniti G35 coupe Positives - 280 hp, 0-60 in 6 seconds, good handling, nice weight distribution, I love the styling, more fun than the BM. Negatives - Bad gas milage (although my employer pays for gas), small backseats, trunk barely has enough space for two golf bags...and I don't play golf.

need an answer replied: "BMW is a driver's car. Dont worry what other people think - focus on what you enjoy. Given the choice - I would pick the BMW."

Slappy McStretchnuts replied: "Infiniti is made by Nissan, and they've been having some reliability problems as of late... But then again, so do all the german cars. Honestly, I'd buy a lexus before either of those. Just for the reliability factor alone. By the way... to hell with what anything thinks. Reward yourself for being a productive member of society. Screw everyone else! Check out this website too. It lists the editor's choices for all cars, in all price ranges. Fun reading. "

nona replied: "of course BMW"

jenivive replied: "go for the BMW. my ex bfs mom had the infiniti and i hated it. it was so small and back seats wouldnt fit a munchkin"

BryanEMcGolrick replied: "I would go with the infinity. BMW's are for the smug."

joanna g replied: "buy the BMW 330ci trust me the g35 has real small seats in the back but its your decision just ask god to help you or just save the money for better things"

well replied: "Infiniti- far more reliable than a BM..."

gretsch16pc replied: "Buy American!"

lexingtonwoman44 replied: "I would say go with your heart and don't worry about what others think this is a big purchase and one only you have to live with so do what you think is best for you."

Count Dracula replied: "Depends on if you want to show off (the coupe) or if you want something a little more practical. I would go for the BMW."

ronit r replied: "BMW"

Robert D replied: "Hope you make good money because the maintence costs of both cars is outrageous."

thomas m replied: "Why not buy a Cadillac and drive the best."

Shaq iz Phat replied: "BMW has free maintenance for the first 3 years.... so that should help defray some ownership costs. If you like the Infiniti G35, get the Nissan 350Z instead, since they are the same car at thousands less. Personally, I'd rather get the Acura TL-S."

Peter Griffin replied: "Dont ask that to anyone on here. What you need to do is get out, test drive both and judge for yourself. Both are great cars, but you are the person who has to live with what you are buying. Not some people on yahoo. Would you really buy car A over car B simply because more people on Yahoo Answers told you to? Myself i would go with the Infiniti, but thats just my personal taste. You should not choose from what i or anyone else says."

currious replied: "in the long run, i'd go with infiniti but the 4door. insurance and maintenence will kill you on the bmw."

PATRICK M replied: "You cant go wrong with either of the two. Personally I'm a BMW fan myself, but the infinity G35 is fun to drive. Also the Infinity ranks higher with consumer reports than BMW. That will help you with the resale value later on. I help people buy cars for a living. My website is . Check it out, let me know what you think."

Doug R replied: "Reward yourself - go for the fun car. You have plenty of time to worry about gas mileage and a back seat you won't use anyway."

Manny replied: "buy what you like best dont worry about what other people think just buy what you want."

Dan F replied: "Buy AMERICAN!"

XUSAAAgent replied: "Good thing you are waiting until you are to be 25, that age is a pretty big insurance cut off/rate drop. Between the 2 cars, I would say do the Infiniti. As they are both used, the BMW will not have the advantage of a free scheduled maintanance the new ones provide. BMW's are very expensive to fix, and upkeep can be costly as well. If the previous owner was not vigilant about this, you will be picking up an expensive tab. I do think the BMW is the better drivers car. They are more refined, get better mpg and are probably better overall handlers. The Infiniti is probably one of the best cars for the money. It has more power, and is a nice looking car. The interior is kind of low rent, but that is the only bad thing I have heard."

rebel_redneck_scooter01 replied: "Neither one, you need a domestic, if you would rather have a luxorious car, I would go with a Caddy. Get the LXR Roadster, or the LXR-V"

kpotter47 replied: "I'd say you have it covered already.... whatever you do, check this site first for pricing Lastly, the infiniti has a poor resale value and the BMW has prepaid maintenance"

Husker41 replied: "Buy what you like best and don't worry about what other people think. Between those two cars, I'd get the G35 - more fun. The money-sucking BMW is not "the ultimate driving machine", anyhow. If that's what you really want - and I would, in your circumstances - take a look at this website: "

Help in buying car: 2008 VW R32 or 2007 G35 Coupe? Hi, I need help in buying my next car. I am going to purchase either car as used, but I cant make up my mind. I have 2 in mind that are located in my area. I am going to give you the description of each so you can help me in deciding. 1. 2008 Volkswagen R32 with 6K miles. It looks super clean and is being offered by a dealer as a certified pre-oned car for 26K (negotiable obviously). 2. 2007 Infiniti G35 Coupe 6MT with 14K miles on it, also being offered as a certified preened car. This one looks very new, but with some stress noticeable on the seats. This one goes for 28K (negotiable aswel). Both cars are super quick and sporty, probably the infiniti is a bit quicker 5.8 sec to 60 compared to 6.0 of the R32.(according to car and driver) My concern is in the depreciation of the car. The G35 is a very common car, and there are hundreds for sale, also there is the new G37, making the resale value of the G35 lower. Moreover, inifnity is always updating their model line , which makes the car decline in value. On the other hand, the R32 seems to hold value very good and there are only 5000 in the U.S ( 3 for sale in my area). The car has a certain "cult" status, making it cooler some how. Aslo, probably still 2 or 3 more years until the MkVI R32 makes it to the U.S. I would have to trade the car model 2007 vs 2008 and higher millage 14K vs 6K, since the G35 was a more expensive car when new I know it's lots of info, but i'm very confused on my next car purchase. Thanks, Daniel

Jim replied: "If your main concern is the resale value, I would stick with the volkswagen due to, as you mentioned, it is less of a common car. However the G35 is a reliable vehicle as well as the R32 so if your personal preference is the G35 then think about that you have to drive it every day."

Mokee replied: "the G35 man u shouldnt even ask the question man"

ford y replied: "You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here - carquotes.imess.net"

AWD vs RWD, horsepower/acceleration differences? If a car with the same engine comes in AWD and RWD how would my 0-60 times vary? The engine is a 300hp V6. (infiniti G35) Also when I punch it on the highway or something (as in when I know I wont peel out) am i not going to accelerate as quickly as i would with one or the other? Please explain your answers, that's what i'm mainly looking for here...the technical explanation

gearnofear replied: "Well there are a number of things too look at. With all wheel drive you have 4 wheels that CAN put power to the road. However most people do not understand that as long as the wheels are not spinning you often only have power to 2 wheels. As the weight of the car changes so does the power to the wheels. The computer and the transmission are designed to provide the best balance of power, and traction. now with that said let me also say that the more moving parts you have in a transmission the more power you lose to keep them all working and moving. I'll use a manual transmission to help keep things equal in this analogy. With all wheel drive you have a transmission in side the transmission you would have a differential for the front wheels, the gears to go forward and reverse with an input shaft to connect to the clutch and motor. Along with that you have an output shaft to connect the rear differential to the rear wheels you also have to 2 half shafts for the 2 front wheels. Are you keeping track? So far we have (in complete assemblies) 6 parts in 1 transmission all demanding power. The output shaft is connected to a drive line (takes power to turn it) which then connects to the rear differential. There are 2 more parts. For 8 parts in total demanding power from the engine. on the rear wheel drive car you have the transmission with the gears for forward and reverse, the input shaft for the motor to turn the transmission and then an output shaft to the rear diff, (3 parts) the drive line then goes to the rear diff 2 parts. For a total of 5 moving parts. Ok so where is this all going? If you have 300 HP and you where to measure the HP at the wheels and you measured all 4 wheels you would find your total power to be (this is just a GUESSTAMATE) 250 HP. If you where to conduct the same test on the rear wheel drive car testing just the 2 wheels you would find your power to be around 280. That’s 30 more HP to the rear wheel drive car. So does this mean that the rear wheel drive car will get a better ET at the track? Maybe, there are other factors to consider there as well. If you take the 280 horse and split it even across the 2 wheels that put 140 HP at each wheel. The possibility of the wheels breaking loose and losing traction is pretty good. If you take the 250 and send it across the 4 wheels that’s 62.5 HP per wheel. Less likely you will lose traction and have a better ET. So how does it matter? Well it comes down to tires and driver. If you have an experienced driver who can keep the tires hooked up. It's a fare bet that the rear wheel drive will beat the AWD down the track. However if the Rear wheel car where to (at any point in the race) lose traction on the rear. The AWD would win hands down. I hope this was educational and it gave you the answer you where looking for. Happy REVING!"

Which Car Should I Get? Which car should I buy (assuming all the same price) 05 Infiniti G35 (AWD)(55,455 Miles) 05 Lexus ES330 (67,641 Miles) 02 Mercedes S430 (69,685 Miles) 05 Audi A4 3.0 (60,408 Miles) 05 BMW 325xi (AWD)(53,757 Miles)

Headtater replied: "Get the BMW or the Audi. Infinitys and Lexuses are overrated and Mercedeses are almost impossible to fix when they do eventually break (even though it rarely happens)."

fireturd_owner88 replied: "If you don't want to consider any other cars, get the infiniti. German cars cost too much to repair and Lexus is garbage. Infinitis are great cars, built in america, and great to drive."

chris2EM replied: "I'd go with the Infiniti G35 It's more reliable than the Audi, BMW and Mercedes And it has much better performance than the Lexus."

Dragonoid replied: "You should get the lexus or mercedes Because the mercedes, lexus are 67,641 miles and 69,685 miles."

jdlr46 replied: "G35, that is an awesome looking car."

lolitschow replied: "depends on which you can afford. i'd say i go with the infiniti cause least miles between non german cars because german cars cost 3x the normal price to repair."

Cadillac C replied: "They are all expensive after market parts prices. About double what North American cars parts will be, and they are no more reliable than anything built here. Buy something from the big three if you can not buy new. Buying a used import is not a great deal. Yes a couple are assembled in North America, but they are built elsewhere. It still doesn't make the parts cheaper."
