The SRS light in my Mercedes CLK 320 is on and will not go off? I took the doors off of my car to put lambo doors on now my SRS light is on.I disconnected the wiring to the door and reconnected. What should I do?

Jay P replied: "It could be related to the door conversion or maybe not. Have the codes scanned to see where the fault code is coming from."

What does the srs light guage in the instument panel of a 1996 C220 Mercedes-benz mean? I have a 96 mercedes-benz 220 and when i start it the srs light comes on and the exclamation orange looking light stays on too. I dont have a manuak so what is wrong?

sean C replied: "SRs means safety restraint system in any car. Your Air Bag in your car needs to be check by a professional."

yyyyyy replied: "air bags are working SRS = supplemental restraint system the exclamation point is traction loss for tires, like on mud or ice"

SimpleSimonMetaPieman replied: "it's either emissions (is your exhaust loud or plugged) suspension (hows the ride?) or a brake issue (does your car vibrate when slowing down)? call a dealer for accurate info and ask if it will harm the motor or transmission"

wild bill replied: "SRS Light (Supplemental Restraint System): the supplemental restraint system is your airbag system. It may incorporate a variety of active, passive, and even pre-safe technology depending on the vehicle. Given that the SRS system is a safety system, it is well monitored with numerous sensors and automatic self-tests. The slightest malfunction in this system illuminates the SRS light. Can the vehicle be driven with an SRS Light on? Yes, at the owner’s risk. There are thousands of vehicles on the road without SRS technology. Is the airbag going to blow up? It’s unlikely. When the SRS Light is on the system is inoperative. If you’re nervous—tow it!"

Nolz HB replied: "Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) If the SRS indicator lamp stays "on" there is a malfunction with seatbelt tensioners or airbags. In this case you need to get the system checked in case your airbags trigger unexpectedly or maybe not at all in an accident. As for the orange exclamation light staying on, that means that there is a traction control problem. This could mean that there could be a problem with your ASR or ESP (Traction control systems)"

THE SRS light on my mercedes benz S430 keeps switching on and off when im driving, what might be the problem? what might be the problem? and where is the problem?

Bandit-05 replied: "The system will have to be scanned to find out. The problem could be the SRS control unit itself, any of the seat belts and/or buckles, any of the airbags, any of crash sensors, or possibly even the front passenger seat weight sensor."

Troublesome replied: "Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) or Supplemental Inflatable Restraints (some people refer to it as Safety Restraint Systems), basically your air bag system. It could be as simple as a corroded fuse or something much more. Have it checked out at the dealer."

Damastah replied: "hit navi on your dash. go to points of interests, then click MB service, then click again, then click fastest route, and listen to the sexy lady. :D they will take care of it for you. there wont be anything you can do about it"

bill b replied: "Unfortunately, even if you were to scan the vehicle yourself, you can't reset the SRS light. That can only be done at the dealership. The good news is, unless there's a true problem (or they're crooks) a simple reset may not end up costing you anything at all. Another good thing... having the SRS light on qualifies as a safety issue. Drive into any MS service center, and they'll take you right in without an appointment."

miker replied: "There is an updated wiring harness for the steering control module. High resistance in these pins will cause the srs light to come on. Make sure you don't put anything on the passengerside seat as well as the child seast recognition may detect them."

how can i turn off my srs light in 1992 mercedes 400E? my srs light wont turn off and i need to get the car inspected? where is the fuse to disconnect that light just so i can get it inspected and have it repaired in the future

Mr Blaze replied: "it can be reset by a starscan at the dealership. auto zone might be able to do it for free."

Bandit-05 replied: "It's not as simple as just removing a fuse. If this was the case, nearly everyone that had a fault within the SRS system would pull a fuse and never fix the system. Later, when the car was sold, the new owners would believe they had a fully functioning airbag system but this would not be the case. You'll have to have the faulty part replaced and have the system reset."

char b replied: "Generally speaking, an OBD scan won't reset your SRS light. Unfortunately, it's going to be one of those times you actually have to take it into the shop to have it reset. Some problems can cause the light to come on without there being any mechanical fault. If that's the case, a Mercedes shop will usually reset it for nothing. If there's a 'reason' why the light has come on, the issue has to be fixed first, then reset."

how can i reset my SRS light on a mercedes ml 500 2006? taken to dealer 1 time and cost 400 and now month later it comes on again.

Gear M replied: "Would go back there for repairs remembering dealer it was paid for."

what does the light srs means on a mercedes 190? my srs is on and wont go off, what does srs mean in reference to my 190e

Vipassana replied: "The same thing it means in any car. Safety Restraint System. Something is either wrong with your seatbelts, or airbags...."

Life=Answers replied: "Problem with Airbags. Probably need to be inspected."

thebourne_id replied: "It means something is wrong with your airbag. SRS, the official name for the airbag system is short for Supplemental Restraint System, since airbags were developed back during a time when not everybody was even using seatbelts. The light should come on for a split second when you start up the car and then go out, but the fact that it is still on means something could be wrong with your airbag and the car is trying to tell you something is up. It would get it looked at ASAP. It could be just a faulty airbag sensor, but I wouldn't count on that."

ncc.1703 replied: "Airbags designed for 10 years of service. Recently MB announced that this time is extended for 15 years. There was no history of non-accidental airbag deployment on all W124-W126 models. W201, which is 190E is less bullet proof. Check it to the somebody who can verify the checklist based on MBWIZ information or the dealership"

happy2b_white replied: "The most likely cause is a seat belt issue."

Bandit-05 replied: "SRS actually stands for supplemental restraint system but what it stands for is not as important as what it does. It's the car's air bag system and it means a fault has been registered by the SRS control unit and the system is deactivated until it is fixed. The fault could be in the control unit itself, the airbags, sensors, or seatbelts and/or belt buckles."

viggom35 replied: "Use extreme caution!!! It means Stay Right Stupid. Pull over, your vehicle may self destruct at any moment. Just kidding. LOL ;) But seriously, there is either a short in the wiring to the air bags or the air bag computer maybe failing. May be a good idea to have it removed and inspected or find another new or used from a parts car."
