Find Used 2000 Toyota Celica Gt in Questions
What car models use the same MAF sensor as a 2000 Toyota Celica GT? I need to know all the car models that use the same MAF senor as the 2000 Celica GT so i can call around junkyards,

John N replied: "well you certainly want a toyota one,,, find one with the same engine and it should work. becarful because you can screw them up removeing and replaceing,,,, I had a celica gt and it was cheaper to have a whole new engine put in.. well they put one in but it sounded funny but ran ok,,, one week went by and rip, i tore the rear end out,and chalked it up as bad luck,,, i put another one in and a week later rippppp.. Come to find out the exact same engine came out of a toyota truck 4x4 and was apparantly geared lower or something and was not designed for the cars...... that was a 1000 dollar mistake"

Michael G replied: "There Almost all the same you can get it from almost all Toyotas. They work from 1999-2007 4Runner with 6 Cylinder 1999-2007 Tacoma with 6 Cylinder 2000-2005 Celica(GT and GT-S) 2003-2007 Corolla 2003-2007 Corolla Matrix 2001-2006 RAV4(4 Cyl) 2002-2006 Camry(4 Cyl and 6 Cyl) 2001-2006 Highlander(4 and 6 Cyl) 2001-2005 Echo 2000-2004 Avalon 2001-2006 Sienna 1999-2005 MR2 Spyder 2000-2007 Tundra with 6 Cyl 2007 FJ Cruiser 2002-2006 Camry Solara (4 and 6 Cyl) 2006-2007 Yaris 2005-2006 Scion tC 2004-2006 Scion xB 2004-2006 Scion xA 1999-2006 Lexus RX Series(Except Hybrid) 1999(w/VVT-i)-2006 Lexus ES Series 2001-2006 Lexus GS300 2001-2005 Lexus IS300 2003-2007 Pontiac Vibe)"

Which Muffler To Get For My 2000 Toyota Celica GT? I have a toyota celica GT year 2000. I wanting to put on a muffler that doesnt increases my car back pressure; i also want the sound to be a smooth sound not to loud and not TOOOOO soft. ( Custom mufflers such as Apex N1 but NOT the Apex N1 i was using as example, I found it to be to loud on my car.) So which muffler should i get? =/

Roger replied: "This is not the cheapest but a reputable company:--2000-ON-Toyota-CELICA-GT-_p_1942.html"

Aqua Man ▀▄▀▄▀ replied: "I have an 04 Celica, this is it. Get a custom muffler."

whats the best way to get 300 hp out of my 2000 Toyota celica GT and GTS? I'm looking for some one that has exsperens with turbos and superchargers and after market parts for a 2000 celica GT + GTS on what parts work bestand what brands for parts to use and and ware to get them cheaper. money isn't a problem just let me now what you now

exodusautogarage replied: "Built block and turbo......"

sea_dragon5 replied: "Well, superchargers provide even power throughout the midrange and is a smoother ride. Turbo's give more torque at lower midrange, but is higher maintenance. Superchargers are more for 4x4 and trucks (i.e. Land Rover etc) because of even, smoother power curve that helps towing stuff. Go for the turbo's - i think it'll be cheaper. Then get intercooler, exhaust system, air filter, new ECU, high performance pistons, gasflowed top, lightened flywheel, big bore throttle bodies, bigger injectors etc. HKS are well-known, but not hte cheapest. Seeing money isn't a problem, go for them as they have a good track record. Oh, seeing that its a Celica, why not drop in a 2jz-t Supra engine in? Those engines are legend and they can easily handle 1000hp. It'll be cheaper to drop that engine in than to do all those conversions. Besides this specific engines comes with twin turbos already fitted - standard! 240kw @ 400Nm.. Mmmmm! Wrrrrrooooooooooooottttssssssssss!"

top gun replied: "Crate engine. Toyota engine has so little toque that ist will neber be fast. 125 lb's. Put V6 Tacoma engine or a 4 cylinder. There are alot of performance parts for these 2 engines new or old."

Mike replied: "A goal of 300hp for the GT-S is pretty unrealistic if you have little knowledge on cars. It was also be extremely expensive. Probably cost as much as a 2000 celica, if not more. Save your money and buy a faster car or one that is more easily tuned if you want some power. A decent goal for the GT-S would be maybe 200 whp with a turbo/supercharger. If you're going 250/300 hp, the engine wouldn't handle that stock. The 2zz is already close to its limits stock. You'd have to replace just about all the internals of the engine for that kind of power, and the transmission would need upgrading. Not to mention you'd probably have no traction with a light front wheel drive car with no limited slip. I dont mean to crap on your idea. I have a GT-S and I love it, but the car doesn't take mods too well. It would be possible, but I wouldn't tackle it without a very large wallet and a very good knowledge of automobiles and the Celica in particular."

I'm looking to buy a used car - please help me compare these two: 2000 Celica and 1998 Eclipse? I don't know a lot about cars so any assistance you can provide is much appreciated. I'm torn between a 2000 Toyota Celica GT from a used dealer or a private 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse from a private seller. I have the following info: Celica - $8900, 149000km, 2 dr., auto., fully loaded, good cond. in and out, drives excellent, cert. & E-tested, alum. wheels (all info from web ad) Eclipse - $7800, 110000km, 2 dr., auto., fully loaded, alloy wheels, 4 cyl., rebuilt engine w/10000km on it, no rust, new altenator, needs a/c gas to be refilled, 3000 watts pioneer mp3-cd sound system wid 2 infinity subs (info from web ad and e-mail correspondence with seller)

Garacaius replied: "Buy the Celica. Eclipse has been dogged ( who rebuilt the engine and will you get a guarantee? ) They can put in the fancy stereo but not fix the a-c, don't buy this car. The Celica will give you much more reliability and return for your dollar."

lexus4nxtc replied: "Celica hands down. I made the mistake of buying a '98 Eclipse (thank god I no longer have it!). It was a piece of junk and I had nothing but problems with it (mostly electrical). In addition, it's really a "chic"-kinda car and unless you are getting the GST, the Eclipse is too slow and weak for me. I made the mistake of buying it with a lot of modifications (including the system like the one you're looking into)... I will never buy anything that was already modified because 1) they probably didn't do it right 2) you will never know exactly how they did it (half the time) and therefore can't fix anything yourself and 3) a lot of times its some young kid and he has probably dogged it out (which would also explain why the engine was already rebuilt). I've owned a lot of Toyotas and always enjoyed them. They were all very reliable. Additionally, it sounds like it is a Toyota cetified used car, which means they have checked it out really well and is probably in good condition. I never owned that model Celica, but I test drove the GT-S (top model) and it was... much quicker than my Eclipse. Good luck!"

Average lifespan of a 2000-2005 toyota celica gt? I was wondering if anyone knew the average lifespan for this car, cause I am looking to buy a used one but my dad thinks that about 100,000 is too much and that the car will start to break down and will just be a waste of money. I have read that the car is very reliable and I feel like it will run well over that without breaking down. If anyone has some estimates of its average lifespan or personal experience with their own celica that would be great

mrssainsarg replied: "That would be difficult to answer unless you knew how it was maintained. Those cars can go 300+ only if maintained good. But any Toyota with only 100,000 miles is a good thing. It's broken in then."

handyclown replied: "We had a toyota the lasted to it hit 400000 it still be running if it hadn't been hit Depends how you take care it"

C7S replied: "ALL CARS CAN EASILY MAKE IT TO 200,000 miles. Unless they were made in the 70's and 80's where cars used to break down at 100,000 miles. Honda and Toyota are the most reliable cars. They can easily go beyond 400,000 miles if you take care of them. I have seen police cars with 400,000 miles, UPS trucks with over 1 million miles, Nissan's with 350,000 miles. 100,000 miles is nothing. It would make it like a 30 year old car in human years."

lanefyre replied: "YOU MUST KNOW HOW IT WAS MAINTAINED!!!! My guess is it was owned by a young driver who beat it to death and the furthest thing from their mind was maintaining the poor thing. I'd stay away unless a mature adult owned it."

merfree2008 replied: "As the others have said, you need to somehow find out how it was maintained. If it was maintained well, and you decide to buy it, then make sure you maintain it just as well - and it will keep going for years. There had been 3 celicas / supras in my family - the last one my mom had - it was a 1985 - she had gotten it to 222,000+ miles, and it was still going great. (minus the oil leak which would have cost a bunch to fix) Since it was about 20yrs old, it ran great..very good body condition. So.... If you find out how it was maintained, and if it was taken well care of, then you shouldn't have too many problems, if any.. especially if you take care of it yourself. (basic maintenance - oil, filters, tire rotations, etc.) Good Luck!"

vehicle_5 replied: "100K miles is not very high on those cars depending on how often it was maintained and cared for by the previous owner(s). If it was maintained correctly for it's entire life it could easily reach 300K miles. 2000+ Celicas are great cars to own and are very reliable! Good luck on your purchase! If you need more info check out for all the info you can get"

How much would car insurance be for a 17 year old?? please answer? im a male, 17 years old, recently got my g2 license, i bought a used 2000 toyota celica gt-s. how much approximatly would my car insurance be? thanks

Tyler replied: "It really all depends on your insurer. I'm 16 and I drive an '01 Yukon without collision coverage and my insurance is $600 every 6 months. (would have been $1,000 with collision coverage) Due to the fact thats it's a 2 door it will be slightly high. Possibly 800-1,200 per 6 months. Thats a total guess by the way. This is based on my insurance in my car. Insurance companies hate teen guys and coups. It's like oil and water. They just don't mix right"

Susan P replied: "based upon your situation,I believe that you might find something helpful here "

my toyota car has big mechanical problems... help?? i drive a toyota celica gt 2000. i bought it used and there has always been this problem with the acceleration. normal when u hit the gas to the floor on any car, it down shifts, and uses the maximum power by shooting fuel into the engine. with my car, if i floor the gas, it just shakes violently without gaining any speed and you could hear a bunch of air sucking in through the intake or the throttle body. so to gain any speed, i have to slowly hit the gas, then it starts going. And on top of that, when my car passes about 4000rpm, it just loses power and speed at all costs but just keeps reving higher. some tell me to get a new intake, some tell me to tighten the throttle cable, some tell me the VVT-i is not kicking in. I really need your opinion on what could be causing this. I've never experienced anything like this in any car. Thanks very much.

shefixescars replied: "check your vacuum lines for any leaks, if you can't find any, then your intake gasket could be the problem."

busnuttwo replied: "variable valve timing is always working it is not some thing that turns on or off it cotroled by oil presure you have ecm computor problem it controls all trans up and down shifts i think your trans is not down shifting when you slow down and engine does not have enouugh tourque or hp at low rpms get check out at trans shop as trans codes reqquire different program do check"

55018spd replied: "It sounds like it is missing. Possibly a vacuum leak with the hissing. Or Spark plugs that are fouled or worn out. With the car running open the hood and listen for any hissing sounds to locate the possible vaccum leak. Or check the spark plugs and also the spark plug wires, out to see what they look like. you wont really beable to see any thing with the spark plug wires an auto shop would have to use a scope to beable to see what the wires are doing. Other than that may have to take it in to a shop to have looked at."

I need people's advice on if I should get this car or not? So I'm thinking of buying a used car. Theres this car I found. 2000 Toyota Celica GT Liftback 2D Asking Price: $13,991 Miles: 74,386 =&c1=000000&c2=adaaad&mailtype=plain&sendreply=yes&opt=COMP2&photourl=&altmail=&dlrtext=&dlrmsg=Se%20Habla%20Espanol,%20No%20Creidito,%20Mal%20Credito,%20nuevo%20en%20el%20pais%20Nosotros%20tenemos%20la%20solucion,%20bajo%20anganche%20y%20pagos%20solo%20Llame%20a%20Erwin%20Feijoo%201-888-859-1995&dlrname=Dublin%20Toyota&usedvaluepreference=Sale%20Price&usedvaluepreference2=Original%20Price&usedvaluepreference3=Price&hidevalues=&ccmail= Should I go for it? Or keep on looking? If you think I shouldn't, can you please guide me on why not? Your help would really mean a lot to me.

maddojo replied: "Please go to kbb.com, which is the Kelly Blue Book website. You can see what the car is worth and what you should expect to pay for it. Good luck."

Kash replied: "keep on looking!!! you can get a newer model for around the same price i bet."

sjvaly,ca replied: "go to kellybluebook book the car out by vehicle identification number make sure you input miles. if the value is fair go to carfax.com run a carfax to see if the vehicle has been in an accident and how many owners it has had. drive the car and pay a reliable mechanic to look the car over, if its all good get it. the leg work will be well worth it in the end!!!!!"

eric j replied: "To tell you the truth you should keep looking. I looked for you and the car is only worth 7,990 dollars so the person is trying to sell it for WAY WAY to much. keep looking and good luck"

Robert C replied: "You could get a New Scion TC for just a bit more than that 14k for a 2000 model. That sounds unreasonable anyway. I say keep looking, and look at the TC. It is certainly comparable to this Celica, but would be brand new...for only a few thousand more. Both are Toyotas... Good Luck."

RAM ASTRAL replied: "The price is too high for that model and too many miles for that price, If you have the money or you are planing to refinance your car .... check car prices E bay I'm sure you can get a much better car for less money, and newer model. good luck."

Iknowthisone replied: "That's too much money for an almost eight year old vehicle with almost 75,000 miles on it."

Fuel System Cleaner? I have a 2000 Toyota Celica GT and I was wondering what is the best product to use to clean out my fuel system. I was going to change my fuel injectors, but I was told there is no point, and that they are probably just dirty.

alvarz replied: "dump 3 or 4 bolltles in the next time you gas up. just about any brand is good. they are all about the same. You may hav to do this for a while depending on how much varnish accumolated on the injectors. Mind you this kind of situation happens mostly from a lot of driving in the city with all that stop and go stuff. If you do a lot of highway driving its usually not a problem. the car more r less cleans itself."

red1967 replied: "Use a high quality injector cleaner about every 5th fill. STP or any other well known. Injectors are expensive and should be cleaned on a regular basis. Do not neglect your fuel filter!"

_RiV_ replied: "Most fuel system cleaners don't work very good ...I have heard great things about seafoam but can't say from personal experience "

gaurdsmen replied: "The EVERWARE system cleaner is one of the best on the market, but you would need to take it to a shop to have it done. It is a 3 stage cleaner, 1 it has a in fuel tank injector cleaner that absorbs water and burns it to remove water from tank and clean lines, 2 has a throtlebody/carb cleaner that takes off carbon deposits and other gunk and cleans really well, 3 has a intake and injector cleaner to remove carbon deposits in intake manifold and injectors, this is done while the car runs @2000 RPM and is put in thru the cars vacuum system. This is an $60-85 retail system cleaner. Most over the counter fuel system cleaner are the same and dont really do much if anything. Hope this helps."

io cant find the part? I own a 2000 toyota celica gt i bent my right lower rear control arm, i've looked everywhere tryin to find a Replacement part for but i cant, if anyone has any idea where i can look it would be greatly appreciated, or if by some it is inter changeable with another cars control arm that i could use.

Mustanger replied: "If the local wrecking yards don't have one they can usually find one on the nationwide net they maintain with other yards. If that fails the dealer can definitely get one."

Arun P replied: "Please check in ROCKAUTO.COM. I checked it for you, it costs 83.79 from spicer and 130 from ACDELCO. I dont know it is for 1 or for a set. Please check out."

speedy replied: "you can fine the part here wwwcar-part.com go there"

baldie replied: "get on the phone and call all the junk yards. they might have 1 off another car or 1 that will fit your car."
