What's the scoop with the Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SV? So I was on and I clicked on model range to look at some pictures. I noticed that the Superleggera wasn't there any more and that there was a new one, the Murcielago LP 670-4 SV. Is this a new car that just recently came out? What does SV stand for? Is it like, a limited edition or something like that? Thanks for the answers ahead of time. I'm kinda into supercars, especially Lamborghini, so give me as much info. as you can on this car, the site doesn't have much. Best info. gets best answer. Thanks!

Billium replied: "well since you own the scuderia, you tell me. how old are you, 9? maybe 12? anybody who knows anything about cars knows that looks have nothing to do with performance. in fact, usually the uglier cars are the ones that are more aerodynamic and better to drive. the lp640-4 was a prime example of this. looked great, but would spin out at every single corner. the scuderia was half designed by michael schumacher, featured an e-diff, and if you ever drove one (which i actually have, unlike you who goes around yahoo answers pretending to have a lamborghini collection) you would see just how special it is. don't worry, i am a car enthusiast too. i understand how hard and frustrating it is to be a kid and lust after these cars, but know that there is the chance you will never even be able to drive them. but every time your teacher assigns homework or announces an exam, keep these cars in your head, and let it motivate you to do well. you can only own them if you're smart, and ultimately successful. good luck!"

Shawn T replied: "These cars are in two different leagues. Your comparing a race car to a high end road going exotic. My favorite is the Ferrari, it is designed and purpose built for racing. The interior is obviously different in the two due to the Ferrari having little to no frills. The Ferrari has no carpets, no radio, and other deletions that are not pertinent to a racing car. My favorite car builder will always be Ferrari simply for the racing heritage and GT pedigree that has set them apart from the Lambo's. The Lambo's are nice rides and have big power but you can't feasibly race the thing. The Lambo is in essence a high priced looker and that's all. Ferrari all the way."

Competes with Lambo Gallardo LP560 and Porsche 911 GT2 The Lambo LP670 has AWD, competes with the Ferrari Enzo and Porsche Carrera GT. It is more powerful and faster since it is at a higher class than the F430 Scuderia."

Race replied: "the scuderia is way better if you tune the ferrari by novitec you can get it up to 747 bhp which price cost as much as the lambo (tuning package + car).the ferrari is more usable in everyday basis than the lambo so the scuderia is way better than the LP 670-4 SV"

And I already know of a dealership in Atlanta. But I live in Tennessee, and would like to get one shipped to a dealer here that sells different kinds of cars. And also, I know that they are expensive, but I've seen the Murcielago for around $350K before. But I'm wanting to know if anyone has seen any for cheaper on the internet (valid websites).

C7S replied: "The Superleggera was only made for 1 year. The LP series are the new version of the Gallardo and Murcielago, which are more powerful, faster, better handling, more expensive versions. Like the Porsche 911 GT2, which is the faster, more powerful version of the 911 Turbo."

Tom replied: "WOW! I just checked that out that is insane! Well the Superleggera was just made for 2008 and in limited production. They also just came out with the LP560-4 Which is more powerful than the older Gallardo. But back to the main question the new ride (LP670-4 SV) is getting a horsepower increase to 670 HP (Instead of the 640 hp.) and a weight reduction of 220 lbs relative to the already quick Lamborghini LP640. The extra power and lower weight equals super acceleration, with a supposed 0-to-62 MPH time of 3.2 seconds and a top speed of approximately 212 MPH. It gives out 487 ft-lbs of torque from the Lambo 6.5-liter V12 engine this is enough, says Lamborghini, to propel the LP670 SV to 0-62 this quick. But unfortunately there is only 350 made. Looks-wise the car is quite aggressive. There are more angles to the front, and they have nicely incorported air intakes on the hood next to the A-Piller. The wheels are a new design and will be a shiny black - the design is nice; I don't care much about the shiny black part. The side mirrors are also nicely redesigned. The back in incredibly aggressive. Although the tail housing remains the same, the bumper protrusions are significant - think Gallardo SL. There is a choice of a standard wing or a more aggressive wing. Standard wing takes top speed up to 342 km/h (2 more than the LP640). The larger wing limits top speed to 337 km/h. Extensive use of carbon fibre all around. The lower edges of the car will be a matte-black carbon fiber while the upper portions will be a gloss black. You can get a big "SV" on the side as an option. Carbon ceramic brakes are standard. Proportions relative to the LP640 remain the same. Interior of the car looks very nice. Extensive use of alcantara. Passenger side has choice of leather as well. Redesigned steering wheel. (YES!) Overall the car looks hunkered down and mean. Price in Singapore is US$1.1 mm, but worldwide price benchmark used was 25% premium to the standard LP640 price. Car will be officially announced in March 2009. First deliveries in June 2009. This new data excludes the price of this 350-unit limited edition, but if everything else holds up it should go on sale in June. SV stands for SuperVeloce (or SuperFast), know back in 1999, they had a Diablo with the SV name. So this could be a reintroduction of the Diable but in Murcielago form. Think of this new Lambo as the step down from the Reventon for about half its price. I better go to the Lambo dealer and order one!!"

Will somebody gift me a Lamborghini Murcielago? Is Lamborghini Murcielago faster than Diablo? I know that Murcielago is slightly faster than Gallardo but is it faster than Diablo? I know that there are several versions of Diablo. So is the Murcielago faster than any of them (SV, VT, 6.0 SE)?

brownspartan replied: "The diablo is basically an older version of the murcielago. the murcelieago goes from 0-60 in 3.8 seconds and the diablo does it in 4.5. tops speed for the murceilago is 205 mph and the diablo is 202 mph.so the diablo is slower and it looks worse"

Future Ferrari Owner replied: "WRONG! The early year Murcielagos had a top speed of 205 mph. These Diablos all have the *potential* to be faster: 1994 Diablo SE30 - 207 mph 1998-2000 Diablo VT - 209 mph 1999 Diablo GT - 215 mph 2001 Diablo 6.0 - 208 mph 2000 Diablo Millenium Roadster - 209 mph Now, there is a difference between numbers on paper vs. an actual race. It will probably be too close to call, as no car will have the exact same performance as another of the same model. Also, the Murcielago's acceleration does beat all of them, even the GT. But some Diablos do have potentially equal or better performance, even back in 1994. The LP640 improved top speed to 211 mph which eliminates most Diablo competition, but the Diablo GT is still capable of a higher top speed. (As I said before though, Murci's acceleration will give it a *slight* advantage over the GT.) The GT is also not street legal in the US. So basically yes, the Murcielago is faster than the Diablo in general, especially the LP640, but there are some Diablo models, particularly the GT, which are capable of beating it."
